Little Birds Loft

I am a big fan of shopping with local small businesses. I would much rather purchase a little gift with a meaning. then just buying any old thing of the shelf.

There are so many small businesses out there, that are willing to craft anything you wish, nearly all items can be personalised, showing alot of time and effort goes into each and every product. Handcrafted with so much care and perfection.

This rings so true for Little Birds Loft. I wanted to know more about the owner, designer and creater.

About me:- 29 year old mummy of two, wife to one, an entire marketing department in the day job and designer and maker for Little Bird’s Loft, a small business selling unique handmade home decor and gifts largely focused around the children’s market although I occasionally make for grown ups too.

Little Bird'sLoft has been born out of my love for something different, unique and a little more special than the high street can offer. I’ve always been a creative person and get great satisfaction from seeing something that I’ve made being appreciated by someone else and a great example was when I was given the honour of creating a gorgeous silver hair comb for a dear friends wedding day. Using precious metal clay and Swarovski crystals, I was delighted with the results and so was the bride.
A stunning Hair Peace by Shona Wright

After years of making jewellery I needed a new challenge and whilst I loved the Buzz of working with precious metal clay, it’s an incredibly expensive hobby so I took a break from crafting for a while.

When we found out we were expecting our second child, a little girl, my passion for making things erupted once more as I set about imagining the perfect little room for a princess and lost myself to gorgeous fabrics and the different stitches on a sewing machine. I’m now on maternity leave and have launched Little Bird’s Loft, so other mummies and daddies can buy gorgeous handmade gifts for their precious little ones and maybe a little something for themselves too. I debuted at the Getthriftys CraftFair in Ickenham in October and now have a busy calendar of events in the lead up to Christmas. New products are being created on a daily basis and at some point I’ll find the time to photograph them all and get them into an online shop but for now, if there’s something you like you can email me to order shona@littlebirdsloft.com.

THE IMMORTAL World Tour

I knew we were going out for my birthday, but I love a surprise so decided to keep it this way.

My dad had purchased the tickets and I didn’t open the envelope until we arrived at the o2, whilst enjoying a Nando, I finally opened the envelope to reveal 2x MJ world tour tickets

Ok, so the disappointment on my face was clearly readable. And I kind of felt 'why would someone buy me MJ tickets?' I imagined an entire concert of some wannabe performer, performing all of MJ's greatest hits - Pure Cheers!

Doors opened at 7pm and at around 8pm the Show began!

Straight away I was hooked! Totally hooked! I didnt know where to look, there was so much going on and I didnt wanna miss abit of it! It was NOTHING like I imagined and was a show of pure genius! Welcome to the dreams of Neverland!

The show was actually created by Cirque du Soleil, I have heard this name floating around the theatre scene, but it’s never been on my to 'go and see' list - well it is now. Although the stunts performed in MJ show will be nowhere near comparison, I’m sure.

Cirque du Soleil used the entire stage, the presence was amazing, and the dancers were on Point. Every move was choreographed to the finest detail.

We had brilliant seats on the floor right up close to the stage. Apart from a slight bit of neck ache from looking up, and not being able to watch everything at once, which you could have if you was seated in front of the stage - rather than at the side (Block C1) the seats where one of the best.

The costumes were detailed incredibly well, and they reflected MJ's style. Of course appearances from 'The Glove' were seen, lots of lights, glitz, underwear (your have to see it!) sparkles, silver foil and more!

Towards the end of the show you really felt there was a presence of Michael, not in the sense of performance, but spirit. Although not be seen, it felt like he could have actually been backstage directing the entire programme.

So to conclude, The Immortal World tour is nothing like you would expect, the use of lighting, costumes, performances, stage is just incredible and could not compare to any show I have ever seen. Towards the end it felt like a tribute to the man himself for all those diehard fans (Me- not being one!) I still appreciated every detail. The show wasn’t forced, it wasn’t cheesy and it certainly didn’t feel like a money spinning con.

I highly recommend you visit whilst it’s on at the o2. I bet my blog on it your LOVE it!
Everyone in this show deserves a huge pat on the back. Well done guys x
